TRAN∑ Interactive Webpage made in Flash 2008-09

The awareness of transcendence is sometimes experienced as a sensation, but at the same time it is an indescribable and ineffable moment, or a perceptual journey intertwined with a multiplicity of moments. I believe that music has the power to act as a mind-alterer, whether we are talking about electronic or classical music. The electronic music, specially techno music at the party, with their monotony, further enhance the alteration. The settings around, the sense of presence, the process of projection in space, further intensify the sense of disembodiment. At the parties, I kept taking notes of the inner images formed by these points, which I then elaborated on. The combined process of music and image is an intangible, and therefore immaterial, process of transcendental conversions (this has two implications, one is a temporal genre, the other is an elusive aesthetic, an ancient question of what is pleasing and what is not). I have called these hypothetical thoughts Trans∑, and organised them in an interactive flash website. Since then the Flash software has been withdrawn, the site can only be seen online through a few video loops.

Hack Reality Interactive Installation 2008-09

The idea of a transcendent thought in the form of a sunflower field. A comparison of day and night energies, a meeting of human consciousness and natural consciousness. The video installation is an interactive "loop", with virtual plants placed in the sunflower field following the movements of the visitors. The three-dimensional virtual sunflower field is ambient, constantly moving and changing, transcends the boundaries of earthly reality by playing with the polarities of phenomena, offering us new possibilities of interpretation. The sunflowers raise their heads and show themselves in all their beauty, shining brightly. The image creates a link between heaven and earth, man and nature in a unique way, endowing us with a solar, creative and life-giving capacity, making us both spectators and participants in this interactive installation. We can view the work from the meeting point of the human-solar-god trinity, either from the perspective of the creative power or from that of Homo ludens. This kind of polarity reversal, in which night and day are interchanged, allows the recipient a fundamental change of perspective, a revelation-like realisation. The spectacle is at once romantic - although it does not become sentimental, as in Blake's poem, the sunflower is not a metaphor for isolation and alienation from the world, but a symbol of universal scale.
